Cadran started as a weekend project. It became something I use every day.
Why Cadran exists
I wanted a clock on my desktop that felt native — not a widget, not a floating window, but something rendered at the wallpaper layer, always visible, never in the way. Nothing like that existed, so I built it.
Design principles
Cadran is built around three ideas: no accounts (your preferences stay on your device), no subscription (one Pro unlock, no ongoing cost), and no clutter (the clock stays behind your icons when you need focus).
The product
Cadran ships 23 handcrafted clock faces across 5 style categories — Numeric, Matrix, Analog, Spectrum, and Data. Each face supports custom backgrounds, contrast-aware colors, and full multi-monitor assignment with Pro.
What's next
New faces, screensaver improvements, and deeper system integration are in progress. Cadran Pro users get early access to every new face as it ships.
